A woman holding a newborn looks at her phone.

I think about my own personal insurance — and a part of me is uneasy. I am a wife and a mom of three children. As you can imagine, I worry about whether my family is protected by our insurance policies. If we do have an insurance claim, are we working with a reputable company? Will they follow through on their promise to pay us if we have a claim?

I began my career as an attorney in the insurance industry and have continued in this industry for the last fourteen years. Before marriage and children, the only insurance issue that I was personally interested in was my co-payment amount for my doctor visits. Oh to be young and free!

Having been in the insurance industry, I am well versed in the industry’s lingo and types of coverage. Despite my knowledge and understanding, I still fear that I really don’t know what would happen if I experienced a large claim. Enter Clearsurance

I learned about Clearsurance from co-founder Mike Crowe. He explained that we can find reviews about restaurants, hotels, and contractors, but why not insurance? A typical family can spend thousands of dollars on insurance each year, but why is there no public community available to review and rate them?

Since launching Clearsurance, I have had the opportunity to read thousands of reviews. I have learned a great deal about others’ experiences, what to look for in an insurance policy, and which carriers have provided excellent service. Additionally, I have written my own reviews with the hopes that it will help benefit others who are seeking insight into a particular carrier. Wouldn’t it be great if the carriers read reviews about themselves, see what their customers have to say about them, and learn directly about how their processes affect their customers?

Life can be hectic. With working, carpooling, and just family life in general, I want to know I can rely on our insurance company to pay our claim. Quite frankly, I don’t have the time or energy to argue with or chase down adjusters with endless phone calls. Wouldn’t it be great if you file a claim, and they pay it correctly without a hassle? Clearsurance is that independent source for those of us who want to understand what we are paying thousands of dollars for each year. More importantly, I want to know that I can trust them to pay if faced with a claim.

In every other aspect of my life, whether its dealing with bills, meeting work deadlines or even juggling after school activities, I feel confident in our family’s ability to manage it. If our home burns to the ground, or if I am in an auto accident, what happens? I want to be able to say confidently, I have insurance, it will be fine. Now I can read and write reviews and have the confidence that my family is protected. Is yours? There is power in numbers, join me! Write your review!
